Permissions for the user role type

When creating a user with the user role type, specific permissions are assigned by default. These default permissions are configured in the system settings under default_permissions_<user_type> within the system_settings table.

You can modify the list of permissions for a user using either the PATCH API method or through the video surveillance system's Administrator interface. Additional permissions can also be found listed separately.

The default permissions:

  • archives-download – Archive dowlload

  • archives-preview-download – Save a camera screenshot

  • archives-show – View archive

  • camera-events-index – View camera events

  • groups-cameras-attach – Add a camera to a folder

  • groups-cameras-detach – Delete a camera from a folder

  • groups-destroy – Delete a folder

  • groups-index – View a camera tree

  • groups-rename – Rename a camera tree

  • groups-store – Create a camera tree

  • layouts-cameras-attach – Add a camera to a layout

  • layouts-cameras-detach – Delete a camera from a layout

  • layouts-destroy – Delete a layout

Permissions for the admin role type

A user with the admin role type is granted all administrative permissions when created:
